Our members have spoken! The charities we’ll be supporting through our national Women In Business Awards programme are…..

Charities chosen

Many thanks to all who took the time to vote for this year’s WIBA charities. At the end of the polls we had two outstanding winners who attracted over 50% of the votes.

Girls Out Loud were the clear winners with 255 (33%) votes followed by Maggie’s Centres who came second with 157 (21%) votes.

We are delighted to be supporting these two charities across our awards and supporting the fantastic work they are doing.

About Girls Out Loud

gol_logo_350px

Our mission at Girls Out Loud is to encourage teenage girls to find their voice, their mojo, their truth.

Our dream is to be there for every girl that puts her hand up for help, whether she just needs a bit of motivation, a Big Sister to talk to for a few months or maybe more of an intervention to help her make some frame-breaking changes and stop repeating damaging patterns of behaviour.

All our programmes are created and facilitated by professionally trained coaches and we harness the love and support of a wealth of volunteers, ambassadors and corporate partners.

About Maggie'sMaggies AW Logo PMS 7456U CS4

Maggie’s provides free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends, following the ideas about cancer care originally laid out by Maggie Keswick Jencks.

Built in the grounds of NHS cancer hospitals, Maggie’s Centres are places with professional staff on hand to offer the support people need.

Our Centres are places to find practical advice about benefits and eating well; places where qualified experts provide emotional support; places to meet other people; places where you can simply sit quietly with a cup of tea.

The first Maggie’s Centre opened in Edinburgh in 1996 and since then Maggie’s has continued to grow, with 17 Centres at major NHS cancer hospitals in the UK, online and abroad.

We look forward to seeing you all at the awards and congratulations once again to our inspirational finalists.
